Sports Broadcast Journalist
Reporter
Chris has reported from some weird and wonderful places: the Bird’s Nest in Beijing, Haile Gebrselassie’s dining room in Addis Ababa, sitting on a rock at 8000ft in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, on a bench in New York’s Central Park and, during the Covid-19 lockdown, from his own front room. Regardless of location, it’s always about telling the story, painting the picture.
Chris is also a highly effective interviewer. Whether it’s a 90-second flash interview from the mixed zone, grilling a politician or a longer, more personal conversation, he always comes away with something worth listening to.
He has interviewed many of the big names who have shaped the sporting landscape over the last two decades: Usain Bolt, Sebastian Coe, Mo Farah, Roger Federer, Haile Gebrselassie, Tanni Grey-Thompson, Paula Radcliffe, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, David Weir.
His foreign language interviews include Arsène Wenger in French, Federer in German and Rafael Nadal in Spanish. He also did an exclusive interview, in French, with Kodjovi Obilale, the Togo goalkeeper who survived a terrorist attack en route to the Africa Cup of Nations in 2010.
